The Advocates Society Press Release in Opposition to Proposed New Polish Media Law

Freedom of the press is a fundamental right supported by the Advocates Society and its members, and anything threatening those fundamental rights is against our democratic principles and detrimental to the further development of a free and prosperous Poland. We therefore oppose the proposed legislation recently adopted by Poland’s lower parliament (“Sejm”) restricting those rights, and encourage the Polish Senate to stand up for freedom of the press in Poland and reject such law.
