Institute of Media Monitoring Commends TVN’s Media Influence and Excellence

TVN24 and TVN have once again affirmed their positions as Poland’s most influential television stations, according to a recent report from the Institute of Media Monitoring. Various media outlets quoted TVN24’s original materials over 2,000 times, whereas TVN secured the second position with nearly 1,500 citations.

At the World Media Festival in Hamburg, Germany, TVN WBD garnered 14 awards, including seven gold and six silver statuettes. The station was recognized in multiple categories, including “News Reports and Features,” “Documentaries,” and “Entertainment,” with accolades for productions such as “The Behaviorist” and “Abyss of Lies.”

TVN24 journalist Piotr Świerczek was honored with the Jarosław Ziętara Award for investigative journalism from the Press Club Polska for his report “The Power of Lies.” In addition, Michał Przedlacki’s report “On the Frontline. Escaping Irpin and the Defenders of Kharkiv” received a nomination in the Social Issues & Current Affairs category at the prestigious Banff World Media Festival.

TVN’s documentary, “Wagnerites: Putin’s Mercenaries,” directed by Ewa Galica, secured a nomination in the News & Documentaries category at the 62nd Monte-Carlo Television Festival. The film is now in the running for the Golden Nymph Award.

The Sensitive Festival 2023 saw Katarzyna Lazzeri winning the first prize in the Documentary category for the production “Podlasie: Border of Worlds.” Marcin Jakóbczyk, a reporter for Uwaga TVN, secured second place in the same category for his piece “The Loneliness Syndrome.” Furthermore, Piotr Jacoń’s film “Everything About My Life: Kacper” (Czarno na Białym, TVN24) was awarded first place in the YOUNG/KIDS Film Report category.

Two productions by TVN24 for Czarno na białym, “German Dilemmas” and “Reparations and Reactions,” both by Arkadiusz Wierzuk, were nominated for the Tadeusz Mazowiecki 2023 Polish-German Journalistic Award.

TVN24 was also the proud recipient of the Beautiful Brain Award, acknowledging its role in promoting the understanding of brain diseases. The award was accepted by Brygida Grysiak, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of TVN24, and was presented by the Polish Congress of Neurology and Psychiatry. Marek Nowicki, a reporter for “Fakty” TVN, also received recognition in the “Perspectives on Medicine” competition for his reliable reporting and dissemination of current medical knowledge and scientific achievements.
