The President of Poland will participate in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly. Karol Nawrocki will deliver the keynote address on the first day of the general debate on Tuesday afternoon (around 11 p.m. Polish time).
During his stay in the US, which will last until Wednesday, the Polish leader is also scheduled to meet with leaders of other countries.
According to the announcement by Marcin Przydacz, head of the presidential Office of International Policy, President Nawrocki will meet with the most important representatives of the US political, economic, and business worlds, including American investors in Poland and representatives of companies supplying military equipment ordered by the Polish army.
– Of course, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, will be present there and such contact will certainly take place in the near future – emphasized the representative of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
The Polish President will begin his stay in the United States with a visit to the Marian shrine in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, known as the American Częstochowa, home to a replica of the Jasna Góra icon. There, he will participate in the unveiling of a plaque commemorating the late Prime Minister Jan Olszewski, a Holy Mass, and a ceremony presenting awards to Polish community activists.
As Minister Przydacz announced before the Polish delegation departed for the US, in his UN address, President Nawrocki will focus on security issues and present Poland’s view of the future of international relations and the global order. He will also speak about regional challenges, including “security challenges related to Russia’s aggressive stance and its goals – and this goal is to destroy or rebuild the existing security architecture and to move away from a world based on the principles of international law in favor of a world based on the law of force, because this is essentially what guides Russian policy.”
Karol Nawrocki will also participate in a high-level debate of the UN Security Council on the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, which has a strong impact on political and international realities, among other things.
