The United States is committed to Poland’s security, US president Joe Biden wrote in a letter to the New York-based Polish and Slavic Centre on Thursday.

Biden wrote to the Polish and Slavic Centre, the biggest social and cultural Polish diaspora organisation on the US east coast, on the 50th anniversary of its existence.

In the letter, Biden expressed his admiration for the behaviour of Poles who have accepted over two million Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war in their country, which according to him is an expression of hope and solidarity.

The US president praised the activity of the organisation and observed that initiatives it is involved in, such as medical care for the needy, legal aid for immigrant families or promoting the work of Polish artists, has impact on the lives of many people.
