It was attended by representatives of, among others, Telewizja Polska, Telewizja Polsat, TVN Warner Bros. Discovery, Canal+ Poland, and Wirtualna Polska.
“We have not had meetings with the chairman before,” said one of the participants. – During the meeting, he declared that he was open to cooperating with us,” he reports and tells us: – He said he does not intend to revoke the licenses of either Radio Tok FM or TVN unless they violate the law.
Participants in the meeting heard that the National Media Institute would continue to implement the founding study.
During the meeting with broadcasters, Maciej Swirski announced the establishment of a media technology competence center. “The chairman also said he would be setting up a group to deal with deepfakes and creating a sort of advertising repository,” says another participant in the meeting.
Maciej Swirski became head of the National Council on October 10, 2022. Previously, the National Council was headed by Witold Kolodziejski. “With the previous chairman we had fairly regular meetings. We met three times a year at the National Council, and at the NMI – in connection with the founding study and other projects – even several times a month. There was also regular contact with the KRRiT, there were talks about joint initiatives.” Przemysław Broniszewski, a board member of the Association of Employers of National Television Media MOC TV, told “Presserwis” in February.
The head of the KRRiT has so far not met with the radio industry.
