Statement from Christopher Kamyszew, The Society for Arts

TVN is a very important station in providing balanced information to viewers in Poland and outside of the country. Its service guarantees alternative to public Polish Television and Polsat, securing a democratic variety of Information. Its proposed disappearance with lex TVN will create a major disadvantage in providing diversified information and should be considered as a myopic politically-motivated proposal.

TVN delivers not only news programming but also cultural programs including documentary and feature films. Every year, Polish Film Festival in America shows in its official lineup a few TVN film projects, popular among festival viewers and well received by professional media. This year, for instance, the PFFA will show 25 Years of Innocence by Jan Holoubek based on a true story of Tomasz Komenda as well as some excellent documentary films.

TVN remains significant and integral part of Polish media market and must be saved to secure pluralism, and thus democracy.
