Cezary Tomczyk said that Poland has a “political green light” to build a permanent US military base in the country. He also revealed that the two most likely locations are Lower Silesia and Greater Poland.

Cezary Tomczyk was asked during RMF FM’s “Morning Talk” about progress in building a permanent US military base in Poland. Talks on this matter have been ongoing with Washington for at least several weeks. “In the coming days, a negotiating team will be established at the Ministry of National Defense regarding a permanent US military base in Poland,” he assured.

As the Deputy Minister of National Defence emphasized, new information regarding the construction of the base should appear within the next few weeks and will be made available to the public.
He added that the most likely locations for a permanent base are Greater Poland and Lower Silesia. “For years, Poland has been investing in building a logistical and military base in the west, with the goal of accepting potential military assistance from NATO. We’ve spent several billion zlotys on building various types of infrastructure,” he noted.
Tomczyk was also asked about the number of Patriot missiles Poland has transferred to Ukraine. “From 3 to 9,” he said, emphasizing that we have received assurances from the US that, in the event of a threat, we will receive multiples of that number. He added that the transferred missiles constitute a “marginal” portion of our stockpile.
