Poland is becoming the site of the most important military exercises in Europe. In September, French, British, and other allied forces will exercise alongside our soldiers, declared Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. He emphasized that this is a show of force and an effective deterrent to Russia.

On Monday, a meeting of the so-called coalition of the willing, countries supporting Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression, took place in Paris. Prime Minister Donald Tusk, representing Poland in this body, said on Tuesday morning that the joint decision to hold the first exercises involving French and British troops in Poland this fall was crucial. He added that these exercises would “prepare the entire coalition gathered in Paris today to provide such real security guarantees for Ukraine, but also for the region.”

Asked whether the Polish Army would also participate in these exercises, he replied that “the assumption is that the exercises will be joint, multinational in nature,” with the French and British troops coming to Poland primarily. “We will not only participate, but we are the hosts of these exercises in the fullest sense of the word,” Tusk added.

In a later post on platform X, the head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that “Poland is becoming the site of the most important military exercises in Europe.”

“In September, French and British troops, as well as other allied forces, will exercise together with our soldiers. This is a show of force and an effective deterrent to Russia. It is also a confirmation that the security of NATO’s eastern flank, the security of Poland, is the shared responsibility of our allies. Our position in the Alliance has never been so strong,” wrote the Minister of National Defense. (PAP)
