Onet topped the ranking of “The Most Opinion-Making Media in Poland,” with 53,500 citations. Wirtualna Polska came in second with 45,400 citations. TVN24 rounded out the podium with 41,800 citations.
According to a report by the Institute of Media Monitoring, Onet saw a record number of citations in May of last year. At that time, the portal’s journalists determined that Karol Nawrocki, while working as a security guard at the Grand Hotel in Sopot, was involved in the practice of bringing in women to provide company for guests.
The media also widely cited information provided by Wirtualna Polska journalists during the election campaign. They were the first to report that an employee and volunteers of the Action Democracy foundation were behind online ads promoting Rafał Trzaskowski and attacking his competitors.
TVN24 rounded out the podium . The station’s widely cited piece was an exit poll (commissioned by IPSOS and commissioned by TVN24, TVP Info, and Polsat News) , according to which Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki were expected to advance to the second round of the presidential election.
Onet and WP are the most opinion-forming websites on the Internet
Onet took first place in the ranking of the most opinion-forming portals of the past year (ahead of WP and Interia).
WP Sportowe Fakty boasts a 5-place jump , generating nearly 8,400 citations . In August, the website reported that Polish short track champion Rafał Anikiej had tested positive for doping.
Channel Zero rose five spots (nearly 7,000 citations in 2025). In September, the website announced that former President Andrzej Duda would host his own program there.
TVN24 is the opinion leader among television stations. On the air, RMF FM
TVN24 was the most opinion-forming station in 2025, with nearly 41.8 thousand references.
Polsat News came in second place, generating over 32,500 citations. TVP Sport came in third on the IMM ranking, with nearly 13,500 citations, up one spot.
RMF FM maintained its leading position in the ranking of the most frequently cited radio stations in 2025 , achieving a result of almost 31.8 thousand references in the media.
Radio Zet came in second with nearly 18,500 citations. Polish Radio Program I rounded out the podium with over 5,500 mentions.
“Rzeczpospolita” opens the podium of the most opinion-forming press titles
The list of the most frequently cited press titles of 2025 is topped by ” Rzeczpospolita, ” with nearly 41,600 media references. In September, the newspaper revealed that a house in Wyryki may have been struck by a missile fired from a Polish F-16 jet attempting to down a Russian drone.
Second place belongs to “Gazeta Wyborcza,” with nearly 33,100 citations. In December, Wojciech Czuchnowski reported on the dispute surrounding Sławomir Cenckiewicz’s denial of access to classified information.
Last place on the podium belongs to “Fakt,” with nearly 25,100 citations per source. In October, the newspaper’s journalists reported the story of Mrs. Mirella from Świętochłowice, who had been confined to her home for 27 years.
“Nasz Dziennik” moved up 8 places in the ranking compared to 2024, achieving over 6.2 thousand citations in other media.
“Newsweek” leads the podium of the most opinion-forming weeklies and biweeklies, garnering nearly 5,900 citations last year. Second place goes to “Viva,” and third to “Wprost.”
“Forbes” tops the IMM ranking of the most frequently cited monthly and bimonthly magazines of 2025. Rounding out the podium are “Twój Styl” and “Press.”
In business topics: in digital the leader is Business Insider, in the press “Rzeczpospolita”
The ranking of the most opinion-forming press titles on business topics is headed by “Rzeczpospolita”, with nearly 41.6 thousand citations.
In second place was Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, with nearly 21,100 media citations. In January, the newspaper reported on a controversial draft law amendment that would allow the Office of Electronic Communications to block online content without court involvement.
The podium is closed by “Puls Biznesu” with over 7,000 references in other media.
IMM’s ranking of the most opinion-forming economic and business portals is led by Business Insider, which generated nearly 8,300 citations. In August, the portal published a ranking of the best cities to live in Poland.
Money came in second with nearly 7,600 citations. In August, the website reported that the Civic Coalition had withdrawn its election promise to have ZUS pay sick leave benefits from the first day of an employee’s absence.
Bankier came in third on the list, with over 4,100 media references. In September, the website described the Ministry of Finance’s plans to tighten the tax system, which included limiting housing tax relief.
Specialist media in 2025
The most opinion-forming sports media outlet last year was TVP Sport, with nearly 13,500 references in other media.
Second place – up one spot and with over 9,800 citations – went to Przegląd Sportowy. Third place, generating nearly 9,300 citations, went to the website Meczyki.
In the ranking of the most frequently cited medical media, Medonet took first place, achieving nearly 2,800 citations and advancing to the leading position. Second place went to Rynek Zdrowia with over 2,100 citations. Third place went to “Medycyna Praktyczna,” up one spot and receiving 443 citations.
“Gazeta Krakowska” is the leader of the regional media ranking
“Gazeta Krakowska” tops IMM’s ranking of the most opinion-forming regional media in 2025 (over 3,000 citations). In November, the daily reported on a wave of layoffs in the private sector at companies headquartered in Krakow.
“Głos Wielkopolski” came in second with nearly 2,200 citations. The newspaper was the first to report the outrageous behavior of Poznań police officers, who, instead of taking a report of a theft, decided to continue their lunch break.
The podium is closed by “Dziennik Zachodni”, also with almost 2,200 references in the media and a rise of 2 places in the ranking.
Ringier Axel Springer Polska is the most opinion-forming publishing house of 2025
Ringier Axel Springer Polska maintains the first place among the most opinion-forming publishing houses of the year , whose editorial offices Business Insider, “Fakt”, “Forbes”, Medonet, “Newsweek”, Noizz, Onet, Plejada and “Przegląd Sportowy” were quoted by journalists from other media in Poland over 116.8 thousand times.
In second place, up one position, was the Wirtualna Polska Media group with a total of 75,000 citations of the examined titles: ABC Zdrowie, Auto Kult, Dobre Programy, Gadżetomania, Money, O2, Pudelek, Wirtualne Media, Wirtualna Polska, Sportowe Fakty, Fotoblogia.
The podium is closed by Agora, represented by “Gazeta Wyborcza”, Sport.pl, Radio Plus, Plotek.pl, TOK FM, Gazeta.pl and Radio ZET, which were referred to by journalists in Poland a total of almost 68.6 thousand times.

The analysis of the frequency of citations of individual media by other editorial offices was conducted on the basis of 683,701 messages from the monitoring of the press, radio and television, and internet portals, in which citations appeared indicating the names of press media, internet services, radio and television stations or the titles of their programs.
The study covers the period from 1 January to 31 December 2025.
