Europe’s largest videowall and a rotating table at the heart of the newsroom

The studio is the heart of every channel and news program. After more than half a year of renovation, the new TVN24 and TVN’s “Fakty” studio is opening today. We have known for a long time that it features a huge, curved videowall, which has an area of 100 square meters. I checked what else has been prepared by the station, which boasts that it is the most modern news studio in Europe. Premiere at 7:00 p.m. on TVN’s “Fakty”.
I had the opportunity to see the studio on Friday, a few days before the official premiere. It was clear that the work that had been going on since the summer of last year had been completed and the studio was practically ready to work , but the station decided to wait until April 14 for the official launch. A small group of journalists, including me, was shown around the studio by Piotr Kraśko, the host of TVN’s “Fakty”, who talked about the new news area of TVN WBD with his characteristic enthusiasm.
Movable table in the new TVN24 studio
The most important change is the replacement of the previous wall with screens, installed in 2012, with a new huge video wall. The curved screen has an area of 100 square meters and is 4 meters high. Such a large screen will allow for the simultaneous presentation of live connections of many places, maps and graphics.
The central element of the studio is a new table, made up of movable elements. The platform with the table not only rotates, but the table itself can be lowered and raised, which will allow for the implementation of additional plans. This is where “Fakty”, TVN24 news services and the evening program of this station “Poland and the World” will be realized.
To the side of the large table is a small table, where morning interviews will be conducted in “Rozmowo Piaseckiego” and “Jeden na jeden”. In turn, “Fakty po Faktach” will change the location of the event – the hosts of “Fakty” will talk to their guests in a studio, located behind a huge glass panel dividing the space with the video wall in two. The newsroom also has a place for special editions. The new studio has 20 cameras, two more than before. Among other things, a camera has been added, which rides on a rail under the mezzanine. The studio has also installed special diodes that will display the name of the program being broadcast.
When designing the studio, TVN Warner Bros. Discovery looked at solutions used by television stations in other countries.
