“Security, resilience and Ukraine will remain our priorities during the Polish presidency of the EU Council,” Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared in Sweden on Wednesday.
Tusk is taking part in the summit of the heads of government of the Nordic and Baltic countries. At a joint press conference, the head of the Polish government assured that security, resilience and Ukraine will remain Poland’s priorities during the presidency of the EU Council, which will begin on January 1, 2025. ” I know that I will be able to count on the support of all colleagues present in this room to implement our program, ” he emphasized.
According to Tusk, security is to be ensured, among other things, by investments in offshore wind energy. “I probably don’t have to explain here on Swedish soil how important energy security is,” he said. According to the Prime Minister, no one understands this “complicated and dangerous situation” in the Baltic and Nordic region better than we do. “No one has better solutions to these challenges,” he assessed. At the same time, he assured that these words are not a slogan, because cooperation between the representatives of the states present at the summit is of key importance.
