In mid-January, the FAST channels were launched : TVN Kultowe seriale, TVN Telenowele, TVN Seriale o kobiet, TVN Momenty prawdy, TVN Prawo i życie, TVN Szkoła życia, TVN Szpitalne historie, TVN Życie jak w bajce, TVN Talk-show, TVN Usterka, TVN Rajska miłość, TVN w domu, TVN Kryminalne, TVN Rewolucje w kuchni and TVN Moto. The company quickly concluded that the launch of the FAST station turned out to be a bull’s eye. In the following months, the following stations were launched: TVN Milionerzy and TVN Pora na show.

Since their debut, 15 new generation TVN channels have enjoyed great interest among current and new Player users. They have become an offer that our customers return to. The new offer is regularly used by over a dozen percent of users and we can see that their engagement/time spent watching is constantly growing. I believed in this project, but I must admit that the results have exceeded our expectations – Maciej Gozdowski, Group Vice President – Streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery in Poland, told Wirtualnemedia.pl in February. The most popular stations were: TVN Rewolucje w Kuchni, TVN Rajska Miłość, TVN Kultowe Seriale and TVN Kryminalnie. Which FAST channels did TVN register?

FAST stations are not offered on digital terrestrial television, cable networks and via satellite, so they do not require a license. All that is needed is an entry in the register of television programs distributed exclusively in the teleinformatic system. Such entries are published on the KRRiT website. In January and February this year, TVN Warner Bros. Discovery registered 30 FAST channels. Among them are seventeen currently offered in Player.

They still haven’t started broadcasting: TVN Closer to the Stars, TVN Women Talk, TVN Pictures of Everyday Life, TVN Twists and Turns of Life, TVN Around the World, TVN Maja in the Garden, TVN Separations and Returns, TVN Wedding Stories, TVN Top Telenovelas, TVN Fabularnie, TVN Niemożliwe a już and TVN Życiowe Scenarios. The channels on this list will probably debut soon. FAST channels are most often based on content that was once popular on traditional television, but is hard to earn money on on paid television or streaming. TVN stations produce from the broadcaster’s archive, such as “Kuchenne rewolucje”, “Ugotowani”, “Kuba Wojewódzki”, “Szymon Majewski Show”, “Hotel Paradise”, “Magda M.”, “Prawo Agaty”, “Sędzia Anna Maria Wesołowska”, “Kasia i Tomek”, “Brzydula”, “Na Wspólnej” or “Kryminalni”. The stations are financed from advertising. After the liquidation of VOD.pl, they are part of the free section of Player, together with TVN, TVN7, TTV and Metro, i.e. terrestrial TVN Warner Bros. stations. – FAST channels are linear, niche channels, focused on one category, interrupted by commercials. We started with 15, we have 17. We are planning various partnerships and development of this segment. We would also like to offer them in wider distribution. Similarly to the issue of terrestrial multiplexes, in my opinion the concession is a big limitation. The rigid framework of the concession, which is supposed to design something for 5 years in advance, is absurd in today’s times – said Gozdowski during the June debate of the Wirtualnemedia.pl portal.

In his opinion, free stations will develop as increasingly personalized. –  FAST from my perspective is the future of linear television. In my opinion, in the perspective of a few years, these channels will be very personalized. They will be in a niche, but for example, cooking is something different for everyone. Different elements of the wealth of content that we have will be personalized. The same channel will be called Food, but it will be something different for you and something different for me. They will be very different, although they will be under the same Food umbrella. FASTs will develop very much. Thanks to technology, they will develop very quickly and we dream of distributing them more widely, but the legislation is not doing well on this topic. He does not understand what FAST channels are – Gozdowski predicted.
