TVN24 and TVN Lead Polish Television Viewership on June 4

On June 4, 2023, TVN24 and TVN, both of the global media conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery, dominated the Polish television landscape, according to Nielsen TV Audience Measurement data. The stations recorded a combined market share of 23% among viewers over four years old, making them the most-watched in Poland during a significant march that took place on that day.

The march, organized by Donald Tusk, leader of the Civic Platform, was held on the 34th anniversary of the first partially free elections in Poland. The protest was against high prices, theft, and lies and for free elections and a democratic, European Poland. The organizers reported that an impressive half a million people participated in the march.

TVN24 and TVN provided comprehensive coverage of the march from 11:40 to 15:55. During this time, TVN24 emerged as the most-watched channel, achieving a 15.50% audience share in the general group, which includes viewers over 4 years old. TVN followed closely with a result of 7.51%. This combined viewership means that nearly one in four viewers was watching the march with the Warner Bros. Discovery stations.

In contrast, TVP Info and TVP3, which did not provide direct coverage of the march, had a 4.78% market share during the same period. Despite broadcasting a public matters program, direct coverage of the march, and a special news service edition about the march, Polsat News managed a 3.00% share.

The average minute rating (AMR) in the 4+ group was 1,241,415 for TVN24 and 601,346 for TVN, totaling 1,842,761 for these two stations. TVP Info+TVP3 and Polsat News were 382,815 and 240,164, respectively.

TVN24 also led in the 20-54 age category, with a market share of 10.05%, and together with TVN, 18.16%. TVP Info+TVP3 and Polsat News had 2.01% and 2.15%, respectively. The average minute rating (AMR) in the 20-54 age group was 326,793 for TVN24, 263,852 for TVN, 65,370 for TVP Info+TVP3, and 69,922 for Polsat News.

June 4, 2023, marked one of the best days in terms of viewership in the history of TVN24. The station achieved a 9.23% audience share in the general group (viewers over 4 years old). The TVN24 channel has gathered a larger audience only five times before February 24, 2022 (10.90%), February 28, 2022 (10.33%), August 11, 2021 (9.82%), March 1, 2022 (9.61%), and October 30, 2020 (9.50%).
