Everything you need to know for the upcoming elections.

Important Information for the Elections:

Date:
The next elections to the Sejm and Senate of the Republic will be held on October 15.

Voting Timings:
Voting in foreign precincts will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. local precinct time.

Requirements:
To be able to vote, voters staying abroad must present a valid passport at the headquarters of the district electoral commission.

Ways to Vote Abroad:

Being Added to the Voter Register:
A written request to be added to the voter list of a foreign district electoral commission must be made before October 10. This can be done in person, at the consulate, through email, or using the e-elections service.

Obtaining a Certificate of the Right to Vote:
An application for a certificate on the right to vote can be submitted to the consul by October 12. Any Polish citizen with active voting rights can apply for it.

Election Process:
The process of election for the Sejm is through party-list proportional representation via the D’Hondt method in multi-seat constituencies, with a 5% threshold for single party (KW) and citizen committees (KWW) and 8% threshold for coalitions (KKW). In the Senate, senators are elected by first-past-the-post method in 100 constituencies.

Additional Questions:
The PiS government is also putting a series of questions on the issues of migration, privatization, the retirement age, and security on the ballot alongside the election.
